Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism
(C-TPAT)
The program is an initiative developed after 9/11 for
importers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and others throughout the trade
community to protect their supply chain from the introduction of weapons of
mass effect (WME). In exchange for members meeting these requirements, CBP
provides reduced inspections and expedited processing at the border among other
benefits. The program is voluntary and is based on C-TPAT security criteria. Pactrans
Air & Sea, Inc. participates and has fully implemented a “best practices”
policy encompassing all suggested CTPAT guidelines. For more information on Pactrans
Air & Sea, Inc status, visit the CBP website (Security Link Portal) and
search using Pactrans Air & Sea, Inc. SVI number. The SVI (Status
Verification Interface) function is accessed via the C-TPAT security link portal
found on the C-TPAT website. The term status verification interface SVI refers
to a US customs and Border protection CBP Internet based user interface. The
SVI is the point of electronic access to verify the participation status of
other consenting certified C-TPAT partners.
